Edward Medard Park’s boat ramp remains closed; trails and small-vessel access offer alternatives
The county’s current notice ties the ramp closure to a reservoir drawdown.

Hillsborough County’s current Edward Medard Conservation Park notice says the boat ramp remains closed during a reservoir drawdown. The county says access for smaller craft such as canoes and kayaks should not be affected.
The park at 6140 Turkey Creek Road in Plant City offers other reasons to visit, including trails, picnic shelters, a boardwalk, playground and disc golf. Fall and winter hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Entry costs $2 per vehicle for up to eight people; camping and rentals cost extra.
Boaters should check the county’s park page before towing a boat to the ramp. The reopening depends on water levels becoming safe for operation. The page also links to the water district’s reservoir updates for residents following the drawdown.
